About the club

Adelaide Falcons Cricket Club

A young, multicultural community cricket club based in Adelaide, South Australia. Founded in 2023, we've grown to more than 30 members fielding sides all year round — and we welcome players and families of all backgrounds.

Our story

Adelaide Falcons Cricket Club was founded in 2023 by a group of cricket-loving families from Adelaide's South Asian community. What began as a single side of friends has grown, in just three seasons, into a thriving club fielding multiple teams across three of South Australia's cricket associations.

Cricket is far more than a sport to our members — it is the thread that connects new and established Australians, brings families together each weekend, and helps newcomers build friendships and a sense of belonging in Adelaide. We are built on the values of inclusion, diversity, family participation, and good sportsmanship, all underpinned by a member-adopted Behaviour Charter.

Our teams

  • Summer Side 1 — our first XI, playing Saturday cricket across the October–March season
  • Summer Side 2 — our second summer side, reflecting how quickly our playing numbers have grown
  • Winter T20 × 2 — two short-format sides keeping the club together through the cooler months

All our sides compete in Cricket Australia–sanctioned community competitions, with fixtures and results published on PlayHQ.

Beyond the boundary

We see ourselves as a community club first and a cricket club second. Throughout the year we bring our members and the wider community together with family-friendly and cultural events, including:

  • Club BBQ days — relaxed, family-focused gatherings hosted by members
  • Cultural evenings — such as a Curry Night and a Multicultural Night, celebrating our members' diverse backgrounds
  • Fundraising events — that support the club while bringing people together

These are open, welcoming occasions — everyone is welcome.

Where we're heading

Our ambitions for the next few seasons are focused on growing participation and creating pathways into the game:

  • Junior cricket — establishing junior teams and youth pathways so local children can take up the game
  • Women's & girls' cricket — introducing opportunities for women and girls to play, an important priority for our club and for the sport
  • Coaching programs — structured coaching to develop players of all ages and to train up volunteer coaches from within the club

Our vision — a permanent home ground

Our greatest aspiration is to secure a permanent home ground here in our community. At present, our teams play across various grounds without a base to call our own. A permanent home would give the Falcons a stable place to train, play, host community and cultural events, and welcome the junior and women's teams we hope to grow — anchoring our club in the local area for years to come and creating a genuine community asset.
